When talked about identity, some thinker in the past said that we, as a human, receive our self projection from our surroundings. The image/projection/justification/validation or whatever it is receive by individual being, that in the end conscious or unconsciously accepted as a part of who he is, or part of his ‘character’. The problem that occurs in this case is the existence of what can be called as ‘multi’ identity, in one being. ‘I’ that lived in my parents mind and ‘I’ that lived in my friends mind is two different ‘I’ that coexist one with another. The phenomena of one’s self defense mechanism to spend most of his existence in surrounding that he feels his best ‘self’ exist and the phenomena of repressed identity in which his worst ‘self’ exist can be seen as preliminary example of this situation. It can be said that human is tend to always choose to do not see the mirror that give him the ugly reflections.

If we added another variable such as motives and objective, this phenomenon seems more saddening. The depreciation of term like ‘purposes’ & ‘dream’ (that usually will be answered with ‘profession' or 'milestone' type of answers) have significant influence in this phenomenon. And then the development of media and technology seems comes as the solution in this regard, with the ‘alternative’ purpose that it brings along with its own blurred parameter. The brand new advanced blueprint of way of living. The one that can be paired with conventional 'purposes' that usually planed by the parents. Brand new purpose with the name of 'lifestyle' that birth from the cultural womb called capitalism (or any other given terms). These new alternative purposes seem to give many option that in surface looks diverse and exciting but in the end may resulted in hollow ends. With 'experience-orientated' as the key value, new class and classification among human beings comes in the surface. This condition emphasizes as the other form of validation that in this case are not offered by human surrounding. With the ‘unlimited’ and ‘free’ option that first look excited, but in the end, the blurred parameter of the new way of living will only lead to never-ending cycle of desire that will never be satisfied. A massive internal confusion that leads to massive internal crisis is the end of this phenomena. And it’s already happens in increasing the awareness of mental illness phenomena. In more micro point of view, the reciprocal validation creates such sense of comfort that has its own poison. The fear of facing himself in intrapersonal isolation creates such constant diversion. These diversion that come with attached synthetic identity, pile up above the true self, creates a complete plastic identity that possibly lead up to regret and misery in the end.

As stated extensively before, the question ‘Who am I ?‘ & “What is my purpose ?‘ become the main premise of this documentary project that later on will revolving around the idea of uncovering the ‘true happiness’ and ‘true self’ of human beings. In conclusion, this project aim to become honest and unbiased mirror that hopefully can trigger its audience self-discovery process.
